Kentucky Derby

Mint Julep is the official Kentucky Derby cocktail: the world’s most prestigious horse race. Each year over 100,000 (over 6,000 liters of bourbon in one place, it’s unbelievable) Mint Julep cocktails are served on the field.
In the past, it was customary to serve the cocktail in its traditional form in a julep cup, a glass of frozen silver Full of crushed ice! Today the international bartender organization offers cocktail serving in Old Fashion’s glass. This cocktail is very much associated with South America as a whole and with Kentucky in particular.
Mint Julep was invented in the southern United States around the turn of the 18th century, the cocktail drunk mainly by top-tier people, those who could afford to finance this expensive cocktail and sip on the precious silver glass.
